The Intergovernmental and Community Relations Branch is responsible for achieving progress on government’s strategic priorities that relate to Aboriginal policy, programs and services in the province of British Columbia.
It is also responsible for addressing Aboriginal concerns regarding policy, program and service delivery. You will be responsible for leading, managing and supporting coordinated socio-economic strategies and initiatives across government to improve the well-being of Aboriginal people and communities.
Along with the ability to collaborate with Aboriginal community groups and leaders, you bring a collaborative and consultative style that builds consensus among stakeholders and have a flair for building relationships that foster positive outcomes.
You’ll expertly navigate within government structures to identify ministry priorities and ensure progress to results. You have considerable recent, related progressive experience along with a university degree in a related discipline (e.g. public administration, business administration, Aboriginal relations, economics).
An equivalent combination of education, training and recent related and progressive experience will also be considered. A deep background engaging and working effectively with Aboriginal people and First Nation communities is essential for this role, as is the ability to empower and engage a team of professional staff to achieve ministry goals.
