What is mentorship? Knowledge Sharing – improve the overall performance through increased sharing; Innovation – improved individual performance and productively by attaining job skills through transferred knowledge; and, Assessments – identify learning styles

The First Nations Public Service Secretariat’s mission is to strengthen and enhance capacity in First Nations communities and organizations, on an individual and Nation level.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the BC First Nations Public Service Capacity Building Strategy is to provide a road map for First Nations communities and organizations in BC as they pursue excellence in community service. The Strategy will identify opportunities to work through partnerships and/or other arrangements to strengthen and enhance community and organizational capacity to deliver quality services to BC First Nations communities. The Strategy will also identify mechanisms for building networks of support and coordination for First Nations communities and organizations.

BC First Nations that are exercising their decision-making rights and responsibilities through governments and administrations that strive for excellence in community service.

The First Nations Public Service Secretariat’s mission is to strengthen and enhance capacity in First Nations communities and organizations, on an individual and Nation level.

Our Goals

  1. Strengthen and support relationships between First Nations leadership, administration and communities;
  2.  

  3. Coordinate and strengthen human resource development for Nation workers in the core competencies: human, financial and information management and policy development;
  4.  

  5. Support and enhance human resource development efforts for Nations workers in a range of professional sectors such as health, education, children and families, resource management etc.
